i hope u find someone that mindlessly plays with your hands and lightly strokes your legs and massages your back and plays with your hair and i hope that u feel like you’re home when u look at them

the days leading up to your period will make you think you’re under some sort of curse that’s draining the life from your body and then well that does kind of turn out to be the case

Friendly reminder that this blog is pro-choice and if you don’t think everyone should have full control of their own body, then kindly unfollow me right now and go to hell

there’s a misconception that grief only happens when we lose people. this is not true. we can grieve circumstances, relationships, missed opportunities. in fact, sometimes when you find yourself plagued with waves of emotion from sadness to melancholy you may be grieving yourself. the version of yourself that you might have been if things had been different, or if only you had said something, or if someone had stood up for you.

I know.

You’re angry. You should be. You’re scared. You should be.

This is awful. It’s horrifying. It’s deeply depressing. Rage. Scream. Mourn the tragedy we know is coming.

But remember this: what we are about to experience is the world our grandmothers and great grandmothers lived in. This is what they fought against.

Remember that they won. Even if the victory was temporary, they still won.

We can win, too. Prepare yourself. Finish your mourning, and get back to the fight. Yes, it’s awful that we have to have this same fight. It’s frustrating. It’s heartbreaking. But now is not the time to surrender to despair.

Now the work begins.
